Drug Control Unit Dismantles Drug Distribution Operation in Dorchester

At approximately 9:45 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024, Officers assigned to the C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Unit (DCU), in collaboration with members of the A-1, B-2, and C-11 DCUs, arrested 41-year-old Martin Alcantara of Dorchester on multiple drug trafficking charges. The arrest followed the culmination of a coordinated enforcement operation, during which several search warrants were executed in Dorchester.

Following an extensive investigation into drug distribution across Boston, Detectives obtained search warrants for two residences, a vehicle, and the person of Martin Alcantara. The warrants were executed at 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m., targeting locations at 220 Hamilton Street, 10 Michigan Avenue, and a traffic stop at 314 Bowdoin Street, where Alcantara and his vehicle were searched.

During the traffic stop, Officers recovered:

  • Two plastic bags of fentanyl concealed in Alcantara’s mouth.
  • A plastic bag of fentanyl hidden in his underwear.
  • Loose crack cocaine found inside his wallet.

Additionally, searches at the two residences yielded significant quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, drug packaging and distribution materials, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Martin Alcantara was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on the following charges:

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl (100 grams or more, less than 200 grams)
  • Trafficking in Cocaine (200 grams or more)
  • Possession of Class B Substances with Intent to Distribute
