Three Suspects Arrested Following an Armed Robbery in Back Bay

At about 2:01 PM, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Marcus Sharpe, 19, of Boston, Robert Johnson, 20, of Brockton, and Jayden Depina-Romao, 18, of Dorchester, following an Armed Robbery.

Officers responded to the area of Boylston Street and Dartmouth Street for a report of an armed robbery. Boston Police Operations notified officers that Transit Police were flagged down in the area for a robbery that took place outside of 569 Boylston Street.

Officers were advised that the victim was attempting to make a pickup for Uber Eats when one of his friends advised him that four individuals were stealing his moped. The victims confronted the group, and one of the individuals pulled out a knife and a pink taser. One of the suspects fled the scene on the moped, on Boylston in the wrong direction.

The victims fled towards Copley Train Station and were followed by the remaining three suspects. One of the suspects again pulled out the taser and pointed at one of the victims. The suspects fled the area and were seen getting on an MBTA bus outside of the Copley Library.

Transit Police were able to stop the bus, and located the suspects. Officers placed the suspects into handcuffs and were able to recover a knife and taser from the floor of the MBTA bus.

All three suspects were placed under arrest and charged with Armed Robbery. Sharpe was additionally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Depina-Romao was also found to have an active arrest warrant out of Chelsea District Court for Threat to Commit a Crime. All three suspects are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
