At about 7:56 PM, On Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested 44-year-old Juan Pimentel, of Roxbury after responding to a report of a person with a gun at 69 McGreevey Way, Roxbury.
Officers responded to 69 McGreevey Way after a security officer in the building observed a man display what appeared to be a firearm. Officers arrived and spoke with the security officer, who stated that he observed a man on the building’s security cameras pacing around the lobby and confronting people walking through the doors. Concerned with the suspect’s behavior, the security officer continued to watch the suspect through security cameras and observed the suspect remove a firearm from his waistband before entering an apartment.
Officers made their way to the apartment the suspect entered and knocked and announced their presence. Eventually the suspect answered the door and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, additional security officers of the building located a firearm in the grass below a window near the suspect’s apartment.
The firearm was determined to be a Taurus G3, 9mm with no magazine inserted, and a query revealed it was stolen out of New Hampshire.
Juan Pimentel was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the charges of Carrying a Firearm Without a License and Receiving Stolen Property.
