Investigation Update: Suspect Arrested Following an Armed Robbery in Brighton

Investigation Update: At about 9:30 AM, on Friday, August 9, 2024, members of the Fugitive Unit arrested Brandon McCallop, 35, of Mattapan, in the area of 733 Centre Street. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Brighton District Court for Armed Robbery While Masked, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Without License 3rd Offense, Armed Assault To Rob (Firearm), Firearm Use In Felony, Intimidate To Steal From Depository, Two Counts of Assault To Commit Felony, Armed Assault To Rob Person Over 60, Two counts of Assault With Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery On a Person Over 60, Assault and Battery, and Firearm Violation With 3 Prior Violent/Drug Crimes. He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 9:15 PM, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, officers assigned to District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) responded to the area of 140 North Beacon Street for a report of an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a suspect entered the store and pointed a firearm at the victim. The suspect then grabbed a second victim and demanded them to empty the cash register drawer. The suspect fled prior to officers arrival. Officers searched the area to no avail.
