At about 2:30 AM, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Kamari Miller, 25, of Boston, on firearm and drug charges.
Officers responded to the area of Weaver Court and Weaver Way for a shot spotter activation. Officers were advised that two black SUVs fled the scene towards Columbus Avenue. Officers observed one of the vehicles parked at the top of Academy Road and observed an individual walking away.
Officers observed the individual turn around and begin to walk towards them. At this time, officers activated their emergency lights and sirens, and the individual immediately turned around to walk the other direction.
Officers were able to stop the individual and observed him holding a bucket hat with an unknown item inside of it. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the individual and recovered a firearm from inside the rolled-up bucket hat. The firearm was later determined to be a ghost gun with one round in the chamber, and two rounds in the magazine.
Officers continued their search of the suspect and recovered a plastic bag containing fentanyl, two plastic bags containing crack cocaine, and four loose pills of gabapentin.
Miller was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
