At about 10:12 PM, on Friday, June 7th, 2024, Officers assigned to District D-4 (Back Bay/South End) arrested George Correa, 64, of Dorchester, after responding to a Breaking & Entering in-progress on Marlborough St, Boston.
When Officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who stated that she was about to go to bed, when she saw a man she did not know inside her home. The victim stated that she ran downstairs into a room out of fear and believed the suspect ran upstairs and exited her home from her rooftop deck. The victim provided Officers with a description of the suspect and the backpack he was carrying before Officers began to search for him.
As Officers thoroughly searched the victim’s home for a suspect, they discovered possible escape paths of the suspect and expanded the scope of their search to surrounding buildings and streets.
During their search, Officers discovered an open window on the first floor of a construction site located nearby. Officers searched the construction site and recovered a backpack from inside that fit the description of the Suspect’s backpack.
While continuing the search, Officers located a man on Marlborough St. matching the suspect’s description while he was laying down in some bushes, with a screwdriver near him. Officers detained him and the victim was able to positively identify him as the suspect. Officers placed the suspect in custody and recovered various pieces of jewelry, money and personal effects that belonged to the victim. All items were returned to the victim. Additionally, Officers recovered what are believed to be 9 oxycodone pills from the suspect.
George Correa was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the charges of Breaking & Entering of a Building in the Nighttime to Commit a Felony, Possession of a Burglarious Instrument, Possession of a Class B Drug, Larceny from a Building, and Arrestee Furnishing False ID Information to Law Enforcement.
