At about 10:00 PM, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, officers assigned to A-7 (East Boston) arrested Samuel Junta, 43, of Boston, on drug charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Maverick Street when they observed a light coming from inside an abandoned building. Officers approached the front door, and observed the window had been broken. Officers made entry into the building, and observed two individuals inside.
As officers were placing one male into handcuffs, they recovered a plastic bag containing what they believed to be crack cocaine. It was later determined that the crack cocaine weighed approximately 10.2 grams. Officers also recovered $650 in US currency.
Junta was placed under arrest and charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime, and possession with intent to distribute class B. He is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
