At about 5:27 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force and the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit made an onsite arrest and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 204 Norwell Street, Dorchester. While on patrol, officers observed a black Acura fail to stop at a stop sign at Millet and Athelwold Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop and as they approached the vehicle, they observed an occupant that they had information that may be in possession of a firearm. The passenger was removed from the vehicle and was discovered to be in possession of a Glock 35 Gen4. The operator was cited for motor vehicle infractions.
Officers arrested Malik Parrish-Butler, 23, of Boston. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Carrying a Firearm without a license (subsequent offense), Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a large capacity feeding device, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID card.
