At approximately 3:39 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2026, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 86 Lonsdale Street in Dorchester.
While enroute, officers received information via BPD Operations that the suspect was observed brandishing a firearm that he retrieved from a blue laundry bag he was carrying.
Upon arrival, officers observed the blue laundry bag on the ground behind the fenced in area. Officers further observed a male matching the description of the suspect running through several backyards on Glenrose Road.
Officers caught up to the male in the area of 26 Florida Street where he was detained. With assistance from the BPD K-9 Unit, officers recovered a firearm underneath a shed in the rear of 40 Glenrose Road. The suspect was taken into custody.
The firearm was determined to be a loaded Glock 19 handgun and a magazine loaded with fourteen rounds of live ammunition.
Officers arrested Damian Christian Errol McGregor, 19-years-old, of Dorchester. McGregor is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card and two counts of Trespassing.
