Violent Suspect Arrested for Attempting to Disarm Officers in Boston

At about 7:03 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2026, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a group of individuals using drugs at the entrance of a private residence in the area of 690 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston.

Upon arrival, officers observed the group of males and immediately recognized one of them from a prior interaction. While speaking with the individual, officers were provided with a false name. Officers continued speaking with the individual in an effort to ascertain why he provided the false name. Officers were able to confirm the individual’s identity and following a query, they discovered he had two outstanding warrants.

As officers attempted to place the suspect into custody, the suspect immediately began resisting by locking his hands together, rendering officers unable to place him into handcuffs. Following multiple verbal commands to comply, which the suspect ignored, the suspect physically engaged officers and a struggle ensued.

While officers continued their attempts to arrest the suspect, the confrontation spilled out into the street, increasing the dangerousness of the altercation due to the heavy rain and traffic. Eventually, officers were able to subdue the suspect on the ground while they called for additional units to respond to the chaotic scene. Simultaneously, the suspect attempted to grab one of the officer’s tasers. The suspect was unsuccessful and officers were briefly able to gain control of the suspect. Upon releasing the suspect’s grip on the taser, the confrontation again went to the ground where the suspect grabbed the handle of the officer’s firearm in an attempt to disarm the officer.  The officers were able to pry the suspect’s hand off of the firearm and with help from additional units, the violent suspect was taken into custody.

Officers arrested 34-year-old Felix Omar David Marrero. Marrero is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Assault and Battery Attempt to Disarm a Police Officer, two counts of Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct Subsequent Offense, Disturbing the Peace, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Additionally, the suspect had two outstanding warrants. Issued out of Suffolk Superior Court on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Subsequent Offense, Distribution of Cocaine Subsequent Offense, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drugs Subsequent Offense, and Distribution of Class B Substance Subsequent Offense. Issued out of Boston Municipal Court on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drugs and two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
