Detectives from District B-2 (Roxbury) have arrested Meshach Dowman, 31, of Revere, MA, in connection with a stabbing that took place in Roxbury on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
At about 7:12 PM that evening, District B-2 officers responded to a radio call for a person stabbed near 301 Warren Street. When they arrived, officers spoke with witnesses and followed a trail of evidence to a nearby home on Kensington Park. There they found a 37-year-old man with a serious laceration on his face. Officers requested Boston EMS, and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and the suspect had a verbal argument inside a nearby business. Investigators believe the suspect then followed the victim outside and attacked him with a knife near Warren Street and Dale Street.
District B-2 detectives responded to the scene, photographed it and collected evidence along the blood trail. They also reviewed video footage from the business and from cameras in the surrounding area, which helped them track the suspect’s movements after the attack. The next day, investigators found what appeared to be the knife on a nearby rooftop and recovered it with help from the Boston Fire Department. After an extensive investigation, detectives identified Dowman as the suspect.
Dowman is now in custody. He has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Mayhem, and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife), and will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
