Suspect Charged with Murder in 7 Whitfield Street Homicide Investigation 

At approximately 5:39 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 7 Whitfield Street in Dorchester.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Joseph Bailey, 20-years-old, of Dorchester. Bailey is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on the charge of Murder.
