At about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, officers assigned to District 2 (Roxbury) and District 3 (Mattapan) made an on-site firearm arrest of Pascual Diaz-Baez, 32, of Dorchester, in the area of 580 Blue Hill Avenue.
Prior to arriving on scene, officers were dispatched to a radio call for a “Person with a Gun.” Officers were alerted that a male wearing a red cap, black coat, and blue jeans was armed with a firearm and pointing it at individuals.
As officers arrived in the area of 580 Blue Hill Avenue, they observed a male matching the aforementioned description. Officers observed the male pinning his right hand inside his coat pocket and shielding his right side. After further observations and due to the nature of the initial call, officers conducted a pat-frisk of Diaz-Baez. During the pat-frisk, officers felt a heavy metal object inside his right coat pocket. Officers were able to safely recover the firearm and place Diaz-Baez in handcuffs. A subsequent inquiry revealed that Diaz-Baez did not have a License to Carry.
District detectives arrived on scene and began processing the firearm. The firearm was determined to be a green and black Polymer80 Model PF940C with a total of four (4) 9mm rounds and one (1) round loaded in the chamber.
Pascual Diaz-Baez is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on the following charges:
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
- Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
An inquiry also revealed that Diaz-Baez had two outstanding active felony straight warrants issued out of Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
Warrant #1:
- Distribution of Class A Drugs
- Distribution of Class B Drugs
And
Warrant #2:
- Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200
