Two Arrested and Three Firearms Recovered in Dorchester

At approximately 9:30 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, made two on-site arrests and recovered three firearms in the area of 605 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester.

While on patrol in the area of Circuit Drive, officers observed a group of individuals congregating around a park bench smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol. As officers approached the group, their attention was drawn to two individuals who were wearing fanny packs. Officers observed suspect #1 to have his fanny pack draped over his back and suspect #2 to have his fanny pack protruding out from underneath his sweatshirt.

Officers conducted a frisk of suspect #1’s fanny pack and recovered two firearms. Suspect #1 was taken into custody following a brief struggle.

The firearms were determined to be Glock 19 with a laser attachment loaded with seven rounds of live ammunition and a Glock 43x loaded with five rounds of live ammunition.

Officers conducted a frisk of suspect #2’s fanny pack and recovered one firearm. Suspect #2 was taken into custody following a brief struggle.

The firearm was determined to be a Glock 19 with a laser attachment loaded with eight rounds of live ammunition.

Suspect #1, Marcus Anthony Smith, 19-years-old, is charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and two counts of Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.

Suspect #2, Jacoby Henderson-Murphy, 18-years-old, is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.

Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
