At approximately 6:21 PM, on Friday, August 28, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an on-site arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile male, of Lynn, and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 2040 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury.
While on patrol in the area of the aforementioned location, observed a group of individuals congregating in the park next to the Library. Officers’ attention was drawn to an individual who, upon seeing officers, immediately stopped engaging with the other individuals, covered his face with his hood, and quickly walked out of the park. Officers exited their department motor vehicle and entered the park where they observed the individual sitting on a park bench. Due to the individual’s unnatural actions, officers approached and conducted a frisk of the male and subsequently located a firearm tucked underneath the suspect’s left arm.
The firearm was determined to be a Glock 42 .380 loaded with seven rounds of live ammunition.
Officers arrested a 16-year-old male of Lynn. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to wit: Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
