About 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, officers and detectives assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park), along with the Boston Housing Police, and the Boston Transportation Department, conducted a targeted enforcement operation focused on scooters and mopeds. The initiative was organized in response to ongoing public safety concerns regarding the use of these vehicles in the Hyde Park neighborhoods.
As a result of this operation, officers towed eighteen mopeds for violations of the auto laws in the areas of Hyde Park Avenue, Metropolitan Avenue, Cummins Highway and American Legion Highway.
The Boston Police Department remains committed to improving traffic safety and will continue to conduct enforcement operations across the city.
