Investigation Update: At about 1:40 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Billy Thien Huynh, 23-years-old, of Boston, following an investigation by the Boston Police Homicide Unit. Huynh is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Murder, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
The facts and circumstances of the initial incident are as follows:
At about 10:14 AM on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 564 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester.
Upon arrival, officers located the adult male victim who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, who has since been identified as Victor Armani Arias Rivera, 20-years-old, of South Boston, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
