In Memoriam: The Boston Police Department mourns the passing of active-duty civilian employee Joseph F. Creighton, on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
Mr. Creighton, at the time of his passing, was assigned to the Fleet Management Division, District D-14.
Mr. Creighton was appointed as a Motor Equipment Repairperson on June 17, 1992, and was assigned to the Fleet Management Division. Over his 34-year career with the Department, he was also assigned to District A-1, District E-5, and the Special Operations Division, where he spent the majority of his career, before returning to District D-14.
Mr. Creighton was highly regarded by those he worked alongside. He was dedicated to performing thorough and specialized work in each task he undertook, ensuring the safety of Boston Police officers throughout his many years of service.
