At about 4:04 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of Keylin Hall, 33-years-old, of Dorchester and the recovery of a loaded firearm in the area of 996 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester.
While on patrol in the area of the aforementioned location assisting security with dispersing a large crowd, officers observed the suspect travelling on a moped down Blue Hill Avenue towards Mattapan Square. Officers further observed the operator was not wearing a helmet, the moped was not registered, and the lights were not illuminated.
Officers approached the suspect and upon immobilizing the moped, the suspect abandoned the moped and fled on foot along the sidewalk towards Callendar Street while clutching the right side of his waistband with his hand. Officers pursued the suspect and eventually were able to detain him. During a frisk of the suspect, officers recovered a firearm inside of his pant leg.
The firearm was determined to be a Glock 44 .22 caliber firearm loaded with ten rounds of live ammunition. As officers were towing the moped, they located five small plastic bags containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine and two small plastic bags containing a substance believed to be fentanyl.
Hall is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License Fourth Offense, Carrying a Firearm without a License Fourth Offense, Firearm Violation with Two Prior Violent/Drug Crimes, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs, Distribution of Class A Drugs, and Resisting Arrest. Hall was also issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation for violations of the auto laws.
