Investigation Update: On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit, US Marshals, and Massachusetts State Police arrested Alan Lewis, 40-years-old, of Brockton. Lewis was taken into custody following an extensive multi-agency investigation in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Lewis is expected to be arraigned at a later date on the charge of Murder.
The facts and circumstances of the initial incident are as follows:
At about 6:38 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Boylston Street for a report of shots fired. As officers were responding to the scene, a motor vehicle accident occurred at 333 Massachusetts Avenue and the driver was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
The victim Brent Stevenson, 37-years-old, of Boston was later pronounced deceased.
