As we continue our public safety PSA series, the Boston Police Department, in collaboration with the Foxborough Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), are reminding residents and visitors to stay alert for scams and fraud.
With major events bringing large crowds to the Greater Boston area this summer, scammers may attempt to take advantage of visitors through counterfeit tickets and merchandise, fake travel deals, fraudulent rental listings, and much more.
Remember to use official websites when making purchases, avoid feeling pressured into quick decisions, and be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true.
If you believe you have been the victim of a scam, report it to local law enforcement as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for more summer safety PSAs as the week goes on!
