Officers Arrest Suspect and Recover Loaded Firearm in Roxbury

Keeping Boston Safe: At about 9:30 PM on Monday, May 18, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite arrest and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 26 Crawford Street in Roxbury.

While on directed patrol in the Grove Hall area, officers’ attention was drawn to a heavily overdressed individual who appeared to be walking at an extremely fast pace. Upon seeing officers, the individual continued to actively avoid eye contact and proceeded to walk at an elevated pace in the opposite direction of officers.

Officers eventually approached the individual in the area of 26 Crawford Street and while speaking with him, officers suspected the individual was in possession of a firearm. When officers conducted a frisk of the individual, they recovered a firearm within a holster clipped to the front of the suspect’s waistband. The suspect was taken into custody.

The firearm was determined to be a tan Glock 19x 9mm handgun loaded with eighteen rounds of live ammunition.

Officers arrested Sani Suleiman, 23-years-old, of Roxbury. Suleiman is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
