Investigation Update: Suspect Arrested in Relation to Double Shooting at 69 Kingsdale Street in Dorchester

Investigation Update: At about 1:30 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested Jaynell Sumler, 18-years-old, of Dorchester by virtue of a warrant issued out of Dorchester Court for charges of Assault to Murder (two counts), Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Discharging a Firearm and Striking a Building.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the initial incident are as follows:

At about 6:48 PM on Sunday, May 10, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 69 Kingsdale Street in Dorchester.

Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to local hospitals with one of the victims suffering life-threatening injuries.
