Keeping Boston Safe: At about 12:32 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, members of the Neighborhood Engagement Safety Team (NEST) conducted a drug investigation that led to the arrest of Victor Sanjurjo Melendez, 27-years-old, of Connecticut and the recovery of drugs and cash in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard in Roxbury.
As part of ongoing efforts to identify, locate, and suppress numerous quality of life issues in the area of the aforementioned location, officers observed an apparent drug transaction take place between the two suspects and another individual. The individual was issued a summons to appear in Roxbury District Court on the charge of Possession of Class B Drugs.
Officers approached one the suspects in the area of 85 Southampton Street who was issued a summons to appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs, Distribution of Class B Drugs, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws.
Officers continued their investigation which led them to 850 Massachusetts Avenue where they approached the suspect, identified as Victor Sanjurjo Melendez, who was immediately taken into custody.
During the booking process, officers recovered two large plastic bags which held sixteen individually packaged small plastic bags containing approximately twenty-five grams of crack cocaine, which were located in the suspect’s underwear. Additionally, officers recovered an undisclosed amount of US Currency.
Sanjurjo Melendez is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Trafficking Class B Drugs, Distribution of Class B Drugs, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws.
