Search Warrants in Roxbury Leads to Trafficking Amounts of Drugs

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of Districts C-6 (South Boston), B-2 (Roxbury) and the DEA FIT group, investigated illegal drug distribution.

Officers applied for and were granted search warrants for 2565 Washington Street, Roxbury, and for the target of the investigation, James Hardy, 60, of Roxbury. The suspect was seen exiting the building and was stopped in the area of Bartlett Street and Washington Street. Police placed the suspect into handcuffs and provided copies of the search warrants.

As a result of both search warrants, officers located and recovered the following evidence:

  • 81 grams of Fentanyl
  • 23 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • 2 grams of Cocaine
  • 613 grams (1.35 lbs) of Marijuana
  • Approximately $30,080 in U.S. currency

Hardy was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following drug related offenses:

  • Trafficking of class A 36 grams, less than 100 grams
  • Trafficking of class B 18 grams, less than 36 grams
  • Possession with intent to distribute class D
  • Possession with intent to distribute class D, subsequent offense
  • Habitual Criminal Offender (Penalty Enhancement)
