Suspect Wanted on Multiple Warrants Arrested with a Loaded Firearm

On Monday, April 6, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) with the assistance from the Youth Violence Strike Force, arrested Maleeak Effee, 20, of Boston, for firearm charges and outstanding warrants.

About 9:57 PM, officers were aware of an individual who had multiple warrants for his arrest. As officers were traveling in the area of Marcella Park, they observed a group loitering outside of 80 Marcella Street. The group took notice of police, and entered the market to avoid any interaction.

Once the suspect reached the sidewalk, he took off sprinting while reaching into his waistband area. The suspect was apprehended in the area of 226 Highland Street, and a firearm was recovered near where he was handcuffed. The recovered firearm had a defaced serial number and was determined to be a Glock 33 with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.

Effee was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:

–          Carry a loaded firearm without a license

–          Carry a firearm without a license

–          Possession of ammunition without an FID card

–          Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number

The suspect had three warrants for his arrest to include firearm offenses, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and possession of ammunition.
