BPD Drug Control Units, NORPAC, and DEA Task Force Execute Search Warrant in Dorchester, Seize Large Quantities of Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Methamphetamine

Boston Police Department Drug Control Units, working alongside the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, executed a court-authorized search warrant of an apartment located at 20 Kerwin Street in Dorchester on Monday, April 6, 2026.

The warrant was the result of a lengthy, multi-agency undercover investigation. Officers made entry into the rear of the apartment and located the sole occupant, the target of the investigation. The individual was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the premises yielded a large amount of undisclosed U.S. currency as well as the following:

  • Fentanyl (powder): approximately 150.9 grams
  • Cocaine: approximately 813.1 grams
  • Blue pills (fentanyl, Class A): approximately 1,720 pills, approximately 191 grams
  • Orange pills (methamphetamine, Class B): approximately 1,600 pills, approximately 480 grams

Additional items seized included digital scales, multiple cell phones, identification documents, and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution.

Edgar Baez-De La Rosa, 38, of Weymouth, MA, is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in a Class A Controlled Substance (Fentanyl, over 100 grams)
  • Trafficking in a Class A Controlled Substance (Fentanyl Pills, over 100 grams)
  • Trafficking in a Class B Controlled Substance (Cocaine, over 200 grams)
  • Trafficking in a Class B Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine Pills, over 200 grams)
