A description of the vehicle and direction of flight was broadcasted over the radio.
Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) were able to locate the vehicle along the Massachusetts Avenue connector. Officers stopped the involved motor vehicle and placed the suspect into custody who was later identified as David Carrasquillo, 24, of Roxbury. A holstered firearm was recovered from the suspect’s waist and was determined to be a Smith and Wesson M&P M2.0 with one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.
District B-2 Detectives were able to review video footage which showed the suspect fire a weapon towards the direction of Zeigler Street. Detectives were able to recover ballistic evidence from the scene.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives observed three individuals on Zeigler Street, with two of the individuals returning fire towards Carrasquillo. Officers began to canvass the area and located multiple vehicles with ballistic damage. Detectives were also able to collect ballistic evidence in the area of Dearborn Street and Zeigler Street.
Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force located ballistic evidence in the rear of 121 Zeigler Street. Detectives determined that the three involved individuals ran into 121 Ziegler Street and a perimeter was set up around the house.
The Sergeant in command on scene declared a barricaded suspect, and requested SWAT and Negotiators to respond. After negotiations with the suspects, three males and a female exited the residence. The address was then secured pending a search warrant.
Eliel Pena, 19, of Roxbury, and David Ortiz, 19, of Boston, were placed under arrest and transported for booking. After further investigation, the third male individual and female individual were promptly released.
