Keeping Boston Safe: At about 4:32 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of 22 Prospect Street in Charlestown.
Upon arrival, officers were met by the female victim who stated she was walking in the area of Adams Street and Mount Vernon Street when two unknown black males approached her from behind. The victim stated the male suspects pointed a firearm at her before stealing her purse and fleeing towards the area of Monument Square.
A witness in the area stated he observed two unknown males running in the area and was able to provide a description to officers. While on scene, officers were approached by a second witness who stated she located a purse and several credit cards scattered in the rear of an address on Chestnut Street. The second witness observed the victim and was able to determine she was the owner of the items.
Simultaneously, officers were dispatched to a radio call for a removal in the area of 85 Monument Street. Upon arrival, officers observed two males who matched the description of the suspects from the robbery. As they approached, the males immediately fled from officers. Following a brief pursuit, officers were able to take the two male suspects into custody in the area of 17 Carney Court.
Officers arrested Davonte Jordan, 18-years-old, of Charlestown and a 14-year-old juvenile male of Charlestown. During the booking process, officers located the victim’s credit card among the juvenile male suspect’s possessions.
Jordan is charged with Armed Masked Robbery of an Elderly Person, Receiving Stolen Property, and Trespassing. The juvenile male suspect is charged with Delinquent to wit: Armed Masked Robbery of an Elderly Person, Receiving Stolen Property, and Trespassing.
Both suspects area expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
