On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at approximately 4:28 PM, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Kareem Samir Williams, 37, of Boston, on firearm-related charges in the area of 2201 Washington Street.

Officers were on patrol when they received a radio call reporting a large fight involving approximately 50 people outside a bank near 2343 Washington Street. A male had been observed brandishing a firearm during the altercation. Officers were provided a description of the suspect and his direction of flight and immediately responded to the area.

Based on information received, officers believed the suspect was heading toward the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building in Nubian Square, located across the street from the reported scene. Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area and proceeded to the rear parking lot of a shoe store at 2275 Washington Street, where they observed a male matching the suspect’s description approaching a group of people.

As officers exited their cruiser to make contact, the suspect fled on foot. Officers gave chase and apprehended him within the parking lot. The suspect resisted arrest but was placed in handcuffs without further incident.

A search of the suspect’s backpack yielded a firearm and additional ammunition. The weapon was identified as a black HK VP9 semi-automatic pistol with a light attachment, loaded with a 17-round magazine containing 8 rounds of 9mm ammunition, with no round in the chamber. Officers also recovered two additional loaded magazines: a 17-round magazine containing 9 rounds and a 10-round magazine containing 9 rounds of 9mm ammunition, as well as a plastic bag containing 13 loose rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Williams was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court on the following charges:

  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
