At about 10:18 AM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 responded to a radio call for a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Frontenac Street and Lucerne Street in Dorchester.
Upon arrival, officers observed a moped lying on the ground in the middle of the intersection as well as a female victim sitting inside of her motor vehicle which appeared to have struck two parked motor vehicles. Officers spoke with the victim who stated she was driving down Lucerne Street when a male operating a moped on Frontenac Street failed to stop at the stop sign and was subsequently struck by the victim. The victim stated upon striking the male on the moped, she collided with two parked motor vehicles in an effort to maintain control of her vehicle.
Officers spoke to the male suspect who initially stated that the victim had struck him before he had a chance to stop at the stop sign, but officers observed the actual collision occurred well past the stop sign and into the middle of the intersection.
Further investigation led to the determination that the male suspect had proceeded through the stop sign without stopping, thus causing the collision with the victim’s vehicle as well as the subsequent collision with the two parked motor vehicles. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The male suspect was issued a summons to appear in Dorchester District Court on the charges of Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and additional Violations of the Auto Laws.
