Mayor Wu joined Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox in promoting several new members of the Command Staff – a new Superintendent to head the Bureau of Field Services and two new Deputy Superintendents – in addition to seven new Captains to oversee our neighborhood District Stations.
Among this impressive group, two female Lieutenants were promoted to Captain. This represents one of only a few times in BPD History where we have had two female Captains leading our District Stations. A fitting occurrence to happen during Women’s History Month!
The new Captains will serve District A-7 in East Boston, B-2 in Roxbury, C-11 in Dorchester, D-14 in Brighton/Allston, E-5 in West Roxbury and E-13 in Jamaica Plain.
Welcome to your new roles in serving our great City.
Thank you to these officers, and all of our sworn and civilian members who work each day to build trust and keep our residents safe. Enjoy your weekend!
