Boston Police Drug Control Units recently conducted targeted enforcement operations in the Edward Everett Square area of Dorchester following intelligence regarding ongoing narcotics distribution at the intersection of Columbia Road, Massachusetts Avenue, and East Cottage Street.
As part of this focused effort, officers executed two separate investigations in February that resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of cocaine and drug distribution materials.
First Investigation: Cocaine Trafficking Arrest on Elder Street
In early February, officers assigned to the Drug Control Units identified 33-year-old Christopher Docanto of Dorchester as a suspected distributor of crack cocaine operating in the Edward Everett Square area.
Following a months-long investigation, officers obtained search warrants for Docanto and his residence at 7 Elder Street in Dorchester.
At approximately 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2026, members of the C-11 (Dorchester) and B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Units observed Docanto leaving his residence and driving toward the South Bay area. Officers conducted a traffic stop near 1100 Massachusetts Avenue and executed the search warrants.
Docanto was removed from the vehicle without incident. Officers seized his cellphone, an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, and keys later used to access his apartment and a safe located inside.
Officers subsequently executed a search warrant at his Elder Street residence. Two adult women were present inside the apartment. During the investigation, officers determined that one of the women, 21-year-old Rachel Lubanski of Dorchester, had an active warrant for Possession With Intent to Distribute a Class B substance. She was arrested without incident and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
During the search of the apartment, officers recovered approximately 26.9 grams of crack cocaine. Investigators also seized items commonly associated with drug distribution, including a digital scale, plastic containers, packaging materials, and personal effects belonging to Docanto.
Docanto was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Trafficking in Cocaine (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams).
Second Investigation: Arrest Following Search Warrants on East Cottage Street
As part of the continued narcotics investigation in the Edward Everett Square area, officers identified 27-year-old Roni Batista Fonseca of Dorchester as a suspected distributor of cocaine.
Following investigative efforts, officers obtained two search warrants: one for Batista Fonseca’s person and one for his residence on Chase Street in Dorchester.
At approximately 10:21 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, members of the E-13 (Jamaica Plain), E-5 (West Roxbury), and C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Units stopped Batista Fonseca while he was walking on East Cottage Street and executed the search warrants.
During the search of his person, officers recovered a plastic bag containing four individually packaged bags of cocaine, a wallet, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
Batista Fonseca was placed under arrest for Possession With Intent to Distribute a Class B substance and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
Officers subsequently executed the search warrant at his Chase Street residence. No additional evidence was recovered during that search.
