Suspect Arrested for Shoplifting Over $1,800 Worth of Merchandise

On Tuesday, February 22, 2026, Officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Shawn Walker, 24, of Dorchester, on shoplifting charges.

About 12:20 PM, police responded to the area of 321 Newbury Street for a larceny report at the Abercrombie and Fitch store. Officers were advised that loss prevention was currently following the suspect and advised police that the suspect was at the intersection of Belvidere Street and Huntington Avenue.

Officers observed the suspect holding two large Abercrombie bags and attempted to place him into custody. The suspect began to resist by tensing his body, but was handcuffed with the assistance of responding officers.

The recovered stolen merchandise was returned to the store and was determined to be valued at approximately $1,850. During the booking process, the suspect provided officers with a false name which led to an additional charge.

Walker was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the following charges:

  • Shoplifting by Asportation, Second Offense
  • Resist Arrest
  • Furnish False ID Information to Law Enforcement
