Mattapan Officers Recovered a Firearm After a Foot Chase

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Alison Soto-Contrera, 23, of Dorchester, on various firearm charges.

At approximately 4:59 PM, officers observed a scooter operated by two individuals who were not wearing helmets and whose scooter was not registered. The scooter also failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Maple Street and Schuyler Street.

Officers began following the scooter and observed one of the occupants securing a fanny pack to the side of his body. The operator then attempted to make an illegal U-turn, at which point the rear passenger fell off the scooter and landed on his feet. The passenger immediately fled on foot, running at full speed down Walnut Avenue.

A foot chase ensued as the suspect ran toward Homestead Street. During the pursuit, the suspect threw the fanny pack over a fence. Officers apprehended the suspect as he attempted to jump over a fence on Walnut Street.

While searching the area, officers located the discarded fanny pack, which contained a firearm. The firearm was identified as a Glock 23 with ten rounds in the magazine, which has a capacity of fifteen rounds.

Soto-Contrera was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:

–          Carry a Firearm without a License

–          Carry a Loaded Firearm without a License

–          Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device

–          Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
