Early-Morning Break-In Leads to Arrest in Dorchester

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, officers assigned to District C-11 arrested 37-year-old George Williams of Quincy, Massachusetts, following a reported breaking and entering at an apartment building located at 1220 Adams Street in Dorchester.

At approximately 4:30 AM, officers responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress and were provided with a description of the suspect. Upon arrival, officers observed a male in the lobby of the apartment building who matched the description. The individual was later identified as George Williams and was detained while officers conducted further investigation.

Officers made contact with three residents of the targeted apartment, who reported being awakened by someone inside their home turning off circuit breakers that controlled the apartment’s lighting. The residents stated they exited their bedrooms and observed an unknown Black male wearing a black puffer jacket inside the apartment, moving items around. They reported that they did not know the individual.

The residents further stated that they recognized the suspect from an encounter the previous day, during which he allegedly placed black tape over their apartment door peephole. When confronted at that time, the individual reportedly stated he was at the wrong address. The residents advised officers that black tape had once again been placed over their peephole and was discovered when they exited the apartment to speak with responding officers.

Following the investigation, George Williams was placed under arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on the following charges:

  • Breaking and Entering at Night
