Investigation Update: At about 12:15 PM, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, officers assigned to the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested Brian Keazer, 50, of Boston, in Jamaica Plain.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Suffolk Superior Court for the murder of Ruth Foster, 56, of Boston. This is another example of the combined efforts and collaboration of the BPD Unsolved Homicide Squad and its many law enforcement partners. These dedicated detectives work to bring justice to victims and their loved ones.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court tomorrow. Please contact the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office for further information.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the 1997 homicide are as follows: About 1:24 AM, on October 14, 1997, the Boston Police Department responded to a call for service at 47 Withington Street, Dorchester, and found the victim. The victim was later identified as Ruth Foster, 56, of Boston. The manner of death was determined to be a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
