Officers from District A-1 spent a festive day with the ladies of the “Walk the Beat” program, heading out together for some Christmas shopping!
Officers provided transportation, helped pick out gifts, and even assisted with carrying bags to make the outing a little easier.
“Walk the Beat” was started by the Boston Police Department in response to the isolation of the COVID pandemic. BPD wanted to create a safe way for seniors to get out with other older residents and our officers to feel a sense of community…to ensure they were safe and not alone. It is true, there is safety in numbers and being part of a community provides that! Happy Holidays!
