On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit arrested Lance Gerald, 38, of Boston, for drug trafficking.
About 9:13 PM, officers observed a motor vehicle abruptly turn into the gas station located on Tremont Street. Observations were made of two individuals approaching the suspect as he sat inside the vehicle. As the group was conversing with one another, officers saw what they believed to be a street level drug transaction. Officers approached one of the individuals as he walked away from the area. The individual was stopped, and officers recovered a plastic bag of cocaine.
The suspected vehicle was then seen leaving the gas station, and a motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of 41 Smith Street. Officers ordered the suspect out of the vehicle, and immediately placed him into handcuffs.
After further investigation, officers recovered two medium plastic bags of crack cocaine, drug packaging materials, and a digital scale from inside the vehicle. During a motor vehicle inventory search, officers also recovered three cell phones, and approximately $1,115 in U.S. currency. The drugs were later weighed and determined to be approximately 100 grams of crack cocaine.
Gerald was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
- Trafficking of Cocaine
- Distribution of Class B Subsequent Offense
