Roxbury Officers Recovered a Firearm After a Foot Chase

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Keith Woods, 36, of Boston, for firearm offenses.

About 10:49 PM, officers were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Alaska Street, when they observed a motor vehicle abruptly turn without using a turn signal. Officers drove past and observed the vehicle now parked.

The front seat passenger exited and walked to the rear of the vehicle as he was attempting to cross the street. Officers conducted a U-turn to speak with the occupants of the vehicle and observed the operator exit the vehicle as well.

As officers approached the vehicle, they engaged them in conversation. When officers exited their marked cruiser, both individuals took off in a full spring in opposite directions. A foot pursuit ensued, and one individual was quickly stopped, and the second individual was seen running on Blue Hill Avenue.

The second individual was then seen crouching behind a vehicle and tossing an unknown item underneath the car. With the assistance of responding units, the suspect was placed into handcuffs. After further investigation, the other suspect was promptly released from the scene.

A firearm was recovered from underneath the vehicle where the suspect was believed to have discarded it. District Detectives were requested to respond and collect the evidence. The firearm was determined to be a Ruger LCP 380 with one shell casing in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.

Woods was placed under arrest and he is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:

–          Carrying a Firearm without a License

–          Possession of Ammunition without an FID card

–          Resist Arrest
