South End Officers Continue Shoplifting Initiative with Five Summonses and One Arrest

About 5:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to the area of 800 Boylston Street for a report of a larceny in progress at Lululemon.

Loss Prevention advised officers that three males were seen concealing multiple items inside the store. A description was provided of the suspects, and they were observed entering the Alo store.

Officers were able to place two suspects into custody, but the third suspect attempted to flee the area. Prudential Center Security advised officers of the location of the third suspect, and he was placed into handcuffs. The stolen merchandise was able to be returned to the store.

The three juvenile male suspects were summonsed and charged with the following out of Boston Juvenile Court:

–          Larceny under $1,200

–          Conspiracy

At about 5:40 PM, officers responded again to Lululemon for a larceny in progress. Boston Police Operations provided officers with a description of two juvenile females stealing inside the store. Store employees observed an electronic security device on the floor of the changing room that the suspects exited from.

Upon arrival, officers were able to stop the two suspects as they were exiting the store. Officers located and recovered the stolen merchandise from the store, as well as merchandise from two other stores inside the mall.

The two female juvenile females were summonsed out of Boston Juvenile Court for the following charges:

–          Larceny under $1,200

–          Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise

–          Conspiracy

One of the suspects was also charged with Malicious Destruction of Property under $1,200, and Unlawful Deactivation or Removal of Theft Detection Device.

About 6:00 PM, while a detective was conducting a shoplifting operation at 326 Newbury Street, he observed a suspect enter The North Face store and remove a pair of slippers. The suspect was seen placing the slippers on his feet and placing his other shoes in a bag. Further observations were made of the suspect concealing more merchandise, and exited the store without paying.

The Detective was able to stop the suspect as he was leaving the store. Additional units responded to the scene and the suspect was placed under arrest.

The suspect, Anthony Craan, 43, of Brooklyn, New York, is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the following charges:

–          Larceny under $1,200

–          Receiving Stolen Property under $1,200

–          Furnish False ID Information to Law Enforcement
