On Monday, November 17, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Rayshod Taylor, 38, of Mattapan, and Travis Windley, 37, of Boston, on various firearm, and drug related offenses.
At approximately 2:45 AM, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and nearly striking several parked cars. Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver initially failed to stop, slowing gradually before coming to a stop in the area of 39 Wenonah Street.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers requested the operator’s license and registration. The driver was unable to produce a physical license but verbally identified himself. Officers explained the reason for the stop and noted the unusually long time it took for the vehicle to pull over.
During the investigation, officers asked both occupants to exit the vehicle. At that point, the operator rolled up his window, locked the doors, and put the vehicle in reverse, striking a department vehicle. He then shifted into drive in an attempt to flee.
With assistance from additional responding officers, the operator was removed from the vehicle. Despite repeated verbal commands aimed at de-escalation, the suspect continued to resist. Both individuals were ultimately taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered inside the vehicle.
District Detectives were called to the scene. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located several plastic bags containing cocaine and crack cocaine, with a combined weight of 34 grams.
The recovered firearm was identified as a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield, loaded with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine. The weapon’s serial number had been intentionally obliterated.
Both suspects were placed under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
