Investigation Update: Suspects Arrested following a Person Shot Incident in Mattapan

Investigation Update: At about 1:52 PM, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Deshawn Grayson, 26, of Boston, in the area of 354 East Eighth Street. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

  • Carrying a Firearm without a License, Second Offense
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
  • Two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury
  • Discharge a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building

Grayson is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.

At about 10:15 AM, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Tyrece Tennyson-Young, 26, of Dorchester, in the area of 1062 Washington Street, Dorchester. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

  • Carrying a Firearm without a License, Second Offense
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
  • Two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury
  • Discharge a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building

Tennyson-Young was arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 10:53 PM, on Monday, September 22, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 37 Temple Street for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
