On Tuesday, October 20, 2025, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Troy Boyette, 34, of Mattapan, on various drug related offenses.
About 7:21 PM, while on patrol in the area of 6 Atherton Street, officers observed a group of individuals congregating near a running vehicle. A query was conducted of the vehicle’s registration, which revealed that the license plates were stolen. Officers also observed an individual on a moped without a helmet, that was stationary, but on the sidewalk.
As officers approached the group, the male on the moped attempted to flee on the sidewalk. An officer was able to grab the moped before he could flee. The suspect fell to the ground and immediately fled in a full sprint.
A foot pursuit ensued, and officers were able to apprehend the suspect as he fled towards Columbus Avenue. The suspect began to resist, and refused to comply with officers’ orders. Boyette began reaching for his left pocket, and officers immediately felt the presence of a firearm. The suspect was placed into handcuffs, and the firearm was determined to be a starter pistol which is not a working firearm. During the struggle, a pill bottle fell to the ground, which contained eighty-four pills of prescription pills which did not belong to the suspect.
A search incident to arrest was conducted, and officers recovered four plastic bags of Fentanyl, which were later determined to weigh approximately thirty-six grams. Officers also recovered $509 in U.S. currency, and towed the moped as it was reported stolen.
Boyette was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following offenses:
– Trafficking of Class A
– Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, Subsequent Offense
– Possession to with Intent to Distribute Class B, Subsequent Offense
– Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
– Disorderly Conduct
– Resist Arrest
Simultaneously, the remaining officers on scene, began to speak with the group that was standing around the vehicle. After further investigation, the vehicle was determined to be recently purchased, but not properly registered. The stolen license plates were promptly seized. The suspect was summonsed to Roxbury District Court for Number Plate Violation, and Receiving Stolen Property.
