Drug Control Units Recovered 178 Grams of Crack Cocaine and Two Loaded Firearms

On Thursday, October 16, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) and E-5 (Roslindale/ West Roxbury), arrested Lawrence Chaney Jr., 39, of Dorchester, for various drug trafficking offenses.

Officers were conducting a drug investigation and execution of search warrants in the area of 50 Columbia Road, Dorchester. As a result of the search warrants, officers located and recovered 178 grams of Crack Cocaine, a Walther PP2 firearm and PK380 firearm with defaced serial numbers, one loaded magazine with eight rounds, one loaded magazine with eleven rounds, a digital scale, drug packaging material, and approximately $105 in U.S. currency.

Chaney is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following offenses:

–          Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

–          Two Counts of Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number

–          Trafficking of Class B

–          Possession of Ammunition without and FID card

–          Armed Career Criminal Level II
