Arrest Made for Firearm and Motor Vehicle Violations in Downtown Boston

On Monday, September 22, 2025, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) arrested Joseph Johnson, 46, of Stoughton, on multiple firearm and motor vehicle charges.

At approximately 1:25 AM, while patrolling the area of Oak Street, officers observed a vehicle stopped at a red light at Washington Street. A second vehicle was seen driving around the stopped vehicle and not stopping at the red light. The suspect vehicle continued through multiple red lights, prompting officers to activate their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers approached and requested the driver’s license and registration. While speaking with the driver, later identified as Johnson, officers detected the odor of alcohol and burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Following further investigation, an exit order was given. The operator removed a large bag of marijuana from his front pocket and he appeared unsteady on his feet.
