At approximately 2:20 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of Westminster Avenue following a report of a person with a gun. Boston Police Operations provided responding units with a description of the suspect.
Upon arrival, an officer observed a group of three individuals, one of whom matched the suspect description. As the officer approached, the individual was seen walking away with his right arm held tightly against his body.
The officer stopped the individual and conducted a pat frisk, which revealed a firearm concealed under his right arm. As the officer attempted to secure the weapon, the suspect attempted to flee, resulting in a brief struggle. During the struggle, the firearm fell to the ground.
With the assistance of additional responding units, the suspect was taken into custody, and the firearm was safely recovered. District Detectives responded to the scene and processed the weapon as a Glock 22, loaded with one round in the chamber and fourteen rounds in the magazine.
A 17-year-old juvenile male was arrested and will be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on the following charges:
- Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Delinquent to wit; Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Delinquent to wit; Resisting Arrest
