Two Arrested on Firearm Charges By Youth Violence Strike Force in West Roxbury

On Friday, August 16, 2025, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force, in collaboration with Transit Police, Boston Housing Authority Police, and members of the Massachusetts State Police,  arrested 18-year-old Kyleik McGee of Boston and a 16-year-old male juvenile from Boston for firearm-related offenses during a subject stop at 175 West Boundary Road in West Roxbury.

Officers were patrolling the Georgetowne Housing Development when they were alerted to a large group of juveniles loitering near a vehicle in the parking lot of the Ohrenberger School. Officers responded to investigate and, upon arrival, observed two individuals separate from the group and attempt to walk away. When officers attempted to engage them, both individuals fled on foot while clutching their waistbands.

During the pursuit, McGee was observed removing a black firearm from his waistband and discarding it over a nearby fence. He was apprehended shortly after, and officers recovered the discarded firearm, later identified as a Glock 27 (.40 caliber) loaded with four rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber. The second suspect, a 16-year-old male, was also apprehended nearby. A pat-frisk revealed a 9mm ghost gun in his waistband, loaded with a high-capacity Glock magazine containing 14 rounds.

Both suspects were placed under arrest, and the firearms were seized by Youth Violence Strike Force detectives.
