Drug Dealer Arrested with a Firearm in Dorchester

On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District C-6 (South Boston) and D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrested Marc Smith, 56, of Dorchester, on drug trafficking and firearm offenses.

At about 8:15 AM, officers were conducting a drug investigation in the area of 32 Fowler Street, Dorchester. Officers observed the suspect of their investigation to be parking his vehicle on Fowler Street. After the vehicle was turned off, officers approached the suspect with their badges displayed and placed him into handcuffs.

The suspect was advised that officers were armed with three search warrants for his person, his vehicle, and an apartment. As a result of the search warrants, officers recovered four plastic bags of Fentanyl which weighed approximately forty-one grams, thirty grams of loose crack cocaine, a digital scale, drug packaging material, and $5,688 in U.S. Currency.

Officers also recovered A Smith & Wesson XD-9 with one round in the chamber and sixteen rounds in the magazine. Twenty-three separate rounds of ammunition were located inside of the apartment.

Smith was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:

–          Armed Career Criminal Level 3

–          Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card

–          Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card

–          Improper Storage of a Firearm

–          Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device

–          Trafficking of Fentanyl, 36 Grams or More, less than 100

–          Trafficking of Cocaine, 18 Grams or More, less than 36
