On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Jamauri Chambers, 18, of Roxbury, and Antonio Vick, 18, of Dorchester, for various firearm charges.
About 10:23 PM, officers were conducting a firearm investigation in the area of 18 Argyle Street. Observations were made throughout the evening of multiple individuals entering and exiting the building with their heads down.
These individuals were seen dressed in hooded sweatshirts, and pants which were inconsistent with the hot weather. The individuals would leave the area multiple times on scooters that were in the side yard of the building and travel towards Talbot Avenue. The scooters were not registered, and the operators/occupants were not wearing helmets.
A plan was developed to stop the scooters once they returned back to the suspected address. As the scooters returned, the officers boxed them in with their cruisers. The suspects immediately dropped the scooters and began to run.
One suspect was immediately stopped and a violent struggle ensued. The suspect began to swing his arms and refused to put his hands behind his back. During the struggle a firearm was seen falling to the ground. The officers issued multiple commands for the suspect to stop resisting which he refused. Multiple officers had to assist with placing the suspect into handcuffs.
The second suspect was also quickly stopped and a struggle ensued as well. He was seen reaching for his waistband, and attempted to break free from officers. The suspect was placed into handcuffs and a firearm was recovered from his waistband. While in handcuffs, he continued to resist officers by trying to kick and pull away from them.
The firearm recovered from Chambers was a Smith & Wesson SW40VE with twenty-one rounds in an extended magazine, and an obliterated serial number.
The firearm that was recovered from Vick was a Smith & Wesson MP40 which had one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.
Both of the Scooters were towed from the scene, and one was determined to have been reported stolen.
The suspects were placed under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
Vick:
– Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Third Offense
– Firearm Violation with One Prior Violent Crime
– Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
– Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
– Resist Arrest
Chambers:
– Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
– Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
– Carrying a Loaded Firearm
– Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
– Resist Arrest
